Leading Schools UT 2023
This summer, the Leading Schools Summit returned for its fourth year in Utah, bringing together 70 school administrators from all across the state together. Hosted at the Canyons School District and Adobe headquarters, this three-day event was focused on empowering school leaders and giving them the tools to lead student-centered Project-Based Competency Learning (PCBL) initiatives in their schools. John Spencer was the keynote for the event and offered participants a lot to think about as he inspired them to think about our students' learning experiences.
The immersive learning experience engaged participants as they worked collaboratively to devise actionable plans for addressing immediate challenges in their schools. This summit offered leaders a unique opportunity to learn through the following tenants:
Personalized Problem-Solving: Using a design-centered approach, leaders rolled up their sleeves and tackled real challenges in their schools. This approach ensured that the knowledge gained was immediately applicable to their specific contexts, and participants walked away with personalized solutions ready to be implemented in their schools.
Tangible Examples of Innovation: Attendees had the chance to see innovation in action. The summit featured examples of what's possible in education when you not just think outside the box but when you repurpose the box.
Collaboration: Collaboration and networking were at the heart of the summit. Attendees connected with peers, mentors, and experts, creating a support network to keep them going long after the summit.
As we reflect on this year's summit, we can't help but look ahead with joy. The Leading Schools Summit has once again proven to be a beacon of hope and inspiration for educators dedicated to creating positive learning environments for all students. The Leading Schools Summit isn't just an event; it's an experience and a reminder that when we come together, amazing things can happen.
